About Us

Constitution: Government of India constituted the AMC on Oct-15-2018 in pursuance of NGT's order Aug-20-2018 and its subsequent revised order Aug-31-2018 for O.A. no 606 / 2018 in the matter of Compliance of Municipal Solid Waste Management Rules, 2016.

Role: The role of AMC is in ensuring the States/UTs adopt and comply with the SWM Rules 2016 by issuing necessary guidelines / directions / periodic monitoring.

Timeline: AMC may function for a period of 1 year subject to any further order by Hon’ble NGT.
